Podium Photo

Pictured here are the organisers : Seasoned Pro. Sponsors : Mafro and the three teams.

Bronze Medalists :

PK "Zindabad" Dons. They managed to beat the cracking willows in the 3rd/4th Playoff, to get the Bronze Medal. Some of the Cracking Willows are in there as well.

Silver Medalists :

Octopus. A storming second half to the season that saw them take 2nd place - but The Old Monks were just one step too far. How different it might have been if star bowler and team founder - Kranthi - had been available for the finals.

Gold Medal :

The Old Monks.

Thank you to the organiser

Shehzad "The Guv'nor"

Great job organising the tournament, that has brought so much joy to so many. The tournament has run smoothly, disputes have been handled well, and we all cant wait for the next season. Well done again to Seasoned Pro.

Thank you from all the Monks.

Goldrush

Ritesh "High Ball" - great bowling and great batting, but outshone by fantastic fielding. The number of run outs and catches was incredible. Must surely have the highest number of run-outs for any non-wicket keeper of any team.

Old is Gold

Sanjay "T-E-A-M" Aurora. The actual Boss. There are many who give motivational talks from the sports field to those in the business arena. Here is a man who successfully brought corporate team motivation to the sports field!

Four wickets in an over, in the finals. Finals are like quarter end, this man produces.

Goldeneye

Siva-G "The Boss". Mottai Boss - Contributed as much with his vocals as with bat and ball. Saved the best of the season for the finals, but learned a few Hindi words throughout the tournament. Ensured that in each over - whether it was wickets or wides - "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai". Ok Hindi speakers, "araam se araam se".

The sweet kiss of Gold.

Man with the Golden Run

Rohit "Deewar" Kerhelkar continued his reputation as Mr.Consistent.

We were amazed to see him bowl a couple of wides half way through the season, but that soon ended, and the Metronome action was back before anyone noticed.

Golden Handshake

"Dirty" Hari
Brought his calm collected nature to the finals. His second season with the Monks - only one game this time, but came through when required. This medal was as much earned last season as this.

Gold Finger

Vinod "I've Got This" Ramaswamy.
He made the umpire's finger go up more times than anyone else in the tournament, Added to his 23 wickets as a bowler will be countless caught behinds, stumpings and run-outs.
Pictured here sporting both the bandana, and non-bandana look. (Much better without the bandana)
Vinod's Anthony Robbins side took the way we approached the game to another level.

Gold Member

Sunil "Aur Ek!!!" Chavan - superbly captained the team in Raj's absence. Made winning the toss part of his game plan. As batsman, made the fielding team panic into giving us more runs every time he was at the crease. Also some spectacular catches, and even more spectacular wicket celebrations.

With Sunil is Tanmay Chavan, who's contribution was critical in the Sarang A match that we won by 3 runs. Simply put, if Tanmay didnt play as well, the Old Monks would not be the invincibles.

Gold Winner

"Captain" Raj : Came back from 3 weeks at the Australian Indoor Cricket Bootcamp in Brisbane and the Mountain of Shao Lin to hone his Kung Fu Skills. Then Seamlessly resumed the captaincy in the most collaborative way with Vice-Captain Sunil.
What a great moment for the leader and founder of the team.

Best Bowler of the Season

A well deserved award for Vinod Ramaswamy. 23 wickets - more than anyone else from any team. Fitting indeed that the winning team has the star bowler.

I would guess that Vinod's wide count is also very low.

One thing is for certain. Many of these wickets came at crucial moments. When the opposition had seized momentum, by playing well against our pace attack - Vinod arrested that momentum right back - 23 times!

Excuse me Mr Ramaswamy, oru Wicket edduppom come with me. Caught-ah bowled-ah nee ye pohtu paaru.

Handing out the bronze medals

Well done the PK Dons. The team that has been the most exciting to watch (along with the Dell Devils) and faced a number of matches that went down to the last ball.

Also the most fun banter in the league... "PK Dons - Zindaabad"
